It depends on the patient's priority. Metal (Top/Easy lines) has the lower cost, is the toughest and least likely to break, bonds fastest, and offers the widest range of prescriptions (Roth/MBT/Edgewise). Ceramic (Crystal M/G, Slider SL) is tooth-colored and far less visible; braces.pl's milled base cuts the breakage risk that's typical of ceramic brackets, but they're still bulkier and pricier than metal, and the ligating version's elastic ties can stain between visits. Since both lines share the same Roth/MBT prescriptions and slot sizes, a clinic can offer either without learning a second system.

Ligating brackets (Top/Easy) are cheaper per case, simple, and offer a wide choice of prescriptions, but the ties need changing at every visit, meaning more friction and more chair time. Self-ligating brackets (Fast SL/Swift SL) use a clip that cuts ligation time at each visit; less friction means lighter continuous force and often fewer visits, plus easier hygiene, though the brackets cost more and staff need initial certification on the mechanics. Self-ligating tends to save chair time once the team is trained; conventional stays the lower-cost default.

Ligating ceramic (Crystal M/G) is cheaper, but the elastic ties can stain from coffee, tea, or wine between visits. Self-ligating ceramic (Slider SL) has no ties to stain or swap and less friction, but it's the most expensive option in the catalog. Self-ligating ceramic is the “no-compromise” discreet choice if the patient's budget allows.

Twist/multi-strand wire is more flexible and gives a gentler continuous force, making it best for early-stage alignment of crowded teeth. Solid stainless steel is rigid and gives precise control, needed for the finishing stage, but too stiff to start badly misaligned cases with. Most protocols use both in sequence rather than picking one as universally better.
